Walking the Loin

Walking the Loin - a video installation on view at the NSTTTZRWHRKRFTZRSTZNG Gallery, Freiburg, Germany, 2024

Walking the Loin is a diary-like walking and crossing video that was recorded during weekly trips to the public library between September 13, 2023 and December 28, 2023 in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco.
It is part of the walking as an art project, which has been evolving for the past 20 years, filmed from the perspective of a passerby in the spirit of cinéma verité. In order to invade the privacy of the people as little as possible, the individual film recordings are shot handheld at waist height. The camera's view only becomes clear after the filmed sequences and shows the problems of the devastating fentanyl crisis, gang activities and homelessness, played out on the sidewalks of San Francisco's colorful Tenderloin district.
The video is paired with an Encampement installation, which consists of so-called “survival sacks” (painted cotton sacks) and refers to makeshift camps of the homeless and those stranded on the sidewalks.

Everything Flows

Alles Fließt - a site-specific installation at the Städtischen Galerie, Donaueschingen, Germany, 2024

The exhibition “Everything Flows” is part of the drawing and multimedia hybridization project NIESATT, which has been constantly evolving for more than two decades, a total work of art that takes up conceptually different media. NIESATT, a compound of the words “never” and “satisfied”, refers to the life around us. The drawings reveal visions of the human drama on the battlefield of reality in our commercialized and machine-dependent world. NIESATT are emotionally realistic, thought-provoking drawings that challenge the viewer to question their own behavior under the weight of the technocratic machine and to fill the sterile void with their own imagination.

ONFF

ONFF - a drawing and multimedia hybridisation exhibition at the Kunstverein Heidenheim, Germany, 2022

The themes and concerns that permeate the installations with a lively urgency point to the ever-recurring legacies of existing power structures, the despicable actions of the industrial-military complex and the social ills associated with them. ONFF also looks behind the lines of the digital permeation of the present time, in which the "smartphone" is no longer a device but a part of mind, marrow and leg that monitors, controls and ultimately leads to digital enslavement; permanently present in the narcissistic, information- and communication-addicted selfie mode in a data-fetish world.
"ONFF" is cross-media with biting irony and mocking humour very close to the Zeitgeist of our fragility and that of our planet.

Ofnet - a temporary Installation at the Ofnet Caves, Nördlinger Ries, Germany, 2022

In 1908 two dish-shaped pits in which human skulls were lying "like eggs in flat baskets were found. In the larger pit were 27 skulls and in the other there were 6 skulls. The skulls were arranged concentrically with their faces turned towards the setting sun.

Gnadenlose_Idylle

Gnadenlose_Idylle" sees human beings as global victims of themselves who have lost their connection to nature. Constantly looking for new impulses in the digital labyrinth, moving from #hashtag to #hashtag between #snaptrapped and #instafame wandering around aimlessly without ever finding an exit.
